Presenting LinkedIn To Local Businesses

Wakefield Business Conference - Social Media Speakers

I recently had the pleasure of presenting at this year’s Wakefield Business Conference. I was one of 4 presenters, each showcasing a different social media platform, using a style of presentation where 20 slides rotate automatically every 20 seconds.

My expert area was LinkedIn . . . unfortunately I don’t have a video of the live event but I recorded the slides after the event. (See below!)

As its such a fast pace but short amount of time I had to really focus on the key messages I wanted to get across.

From the feedback I got one of the key messages that stood out was how important your LinkedIn profile is. Whether you use LinkedIn or not if you have a profile it will get you found on Google. Yet it’s amazing how many people think their LinkedIn profile is just a place for their online CV when actually it’s not about you at all! It’s about your ideal client!

What else did I have to say?

  • Have a profile image as you’re 11 times more likely to get profile views but importantly it’s also having the right profile image
  • Avoid lazy connecting!
  • Get noticed on LinkedIn and be active
  • Include a call to action – don’t just let your ideal clients leave your profile, tell them what they can do next to get more information

Have a listen and let me know what you think.

Hi Judy. Sorry I missed you at WBW, sadly I was in bed with a chest infection! Just seen your slide show now and can see it was a great session that I missed!
